A successful exhibition stand starts with a good briefing to us and our stand designers. With the right information, we create a first stand concept that immediately goes a long way in the right direction. A concept for a stand with which you will realize your exhibition objectives.
But what is such a good briefing and what should it contain?
To answer that question, we have put together an extensive exhibition stand briefing checklist for you. A checklist containing "all" questions we may have when designing your stand. At the bottom of the article you will also find a link with which you can download and save this checklist, both as a PDF and as a Word document.

20 questions and considerations for a successful exhibition stand and participation
- Name/date of the scholarship (or a link to the scholarship website).
- Profile of the visitors (insofar as this is not clear from the website of the fair).
- What is your most important message, your Key Exhibition Message? Your Key Exhibition Message makes it immediately clear to a visitor who you are, what you do and why you are interesting to a potential customer.
- What is the size and type of your stand (intermediate position, corner position, head position, island position)? If you have a map, send it to us. Also indicate where your biggest competitors are.
- What is your target audience – who do you want to get in touch with and what is his/her role within the organization?
- How do you distinguish yourself as a company/brand/product from the competition?
- What are the main reasons for customers to do business with you?
- What do you want a visitor to remember after visiting your stand?
- Do you want to physically show products on your stand? Which?
- Do you need one or more meeting rooms or lounge areas at your stand? If so, do they have to be (semi) closed?
- Do you want visitors to be able to sit on your stand? How many sets of tables and chairs do you need?
- Would you like to have audio/video available on your stand (screens and/or audio)? If so, what kind of content do you want to show/hear?
- What is your budget (approximately – in what range) for stand construction, what is the upper limit?
- What does your Corporate Identity look like – do you have a CI book?
- What is the DNA of your company or brand (for example modern, classic, formal, informal, young, traditional, innovative, high-tech etc.)
- Do you want to offer coffee, soft drinks or catering to visitors at your stand?
- Do you need a kitchen on your stand, if so what facilities do you need in it (refrigerator, coffee machine, dishwasher, water, drainage, storage, etc.)
- Do you give lectures or presentations to smaller or larger groups of visitors at your stand?
- Have you planned any other exhibitions in addition to this fair – do you want to use this stand at other fairs as well? If a stand can be used several times in whole or in part, the costs per trade fair participation drop sharply.
- Do you have any other wishes/requirements?
